Wishing Upon a Star
Hello everyone! This is Suzaku Body Salon KIRARA.
July 7th, Tanabata Day
Today is Tanabata, a romantic day when Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet only once a year. Across Japan, there is a tradition of writing wishes on small strips of paper called tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo branches. Why not make a wish upon a star today?
The Origin of Tanabata
Tanabata is one of Japan's traditional festivals and is rooted in a Chinese legend. Orihime (the weaver princess) and Hikoboshi (the cowherd) are lovers separated by the Milky Way. They are allowed to reunite only once a year on July 7th, when they cross a bridge over the Milky Way. On this day, people write their wishes on tanzaku, hoping to become as beautiful as Orihime and as strong as Hikoboshi.
